It has been a while since I have been able to work on DIVA. But here we go again. A new website, and ---finally-- a version that installs on XP64 (and on Vista and on windows7 64 bits). Gone is the retro-look of the old site. Too bad, but there is a forum now, so if you have questions, they might get answered quicker than before.

yay 64-bit
Hi Robert,
After struggling with virtual machine chaos to get DIVA to run, I am so pleased that there's a version that won't require me to map and share network drives every time I try to use data!!
Thanks,
Sadie
and we´re back
Dear Robert
it is really good to see the renewed face of the Diva-Gis site. Thanks as always for all this. May I ask you here one question about past climate layers available in Worldclim. I have downloaded and used the LIG files, and I would like to give properly credits to authors, and to provide a brief description on how the files were made (e.g. which are the source data, etc.). Could you help me with this?
Best wishes
Luis
forum
Thanks Luis. For questions about DIVA please go the discussion forum or use the contact form. For questions about worldclim, please go to that website -- also currently undergoing an update...
Robert
Congratulations
Great new site. I am glad that development of DIVA-GIS is still happening, it is indeed very good news. I have been designing my courses here in South Africa around using DIVA. The great datasets that go with the tutorials make this so useful for training in biodiversity mapping and conservation mapping. Keep the good work up. Are you continuing work on the Linux versions? I have never been able to try this since I have not been able to download the manual.
DIVA use / linux
Thanks Rich, it always great to hear that, and how, DIVA is used. Linux development is in the fridge right now, as I am focusing on improving the windows version, perhaps in a year from now (when a new Linux version of the Delphi compiler is available... )
